
WORLD BANK COUNTRY OFFICE IN MOLDOVA ANNOUNCES A JOB VACANCY FOR: Youth Voice Group Facilitator The World Bank Moldova Country Office, Chisinau November 27, 2009 - The World Bank Moldova Office is seeking to recruit a dynamic individual for a position of a facilitator to assist the Youth Voice Group (YVG) in Moldova Scope of Responsibilities: 1. Assist Europe and Central Asia (ECA) Youth Voices Focal Point in substantive work related to Youth Voice Initiative (YVI). In particular, it is expected that the consultant will draw upon his/her experience and contacts in the youth field in order to facilitate the collaboration between Moldovan youth structures, the YVG and local World Bank staff. 2. Act as a resource person on youth issues in Moldova for the YVG and serve as primary contact person with YVG in Moldova (may include: arranging logistics for videoconferences and other group meetings and activities, preparing background materials, securing dates, organizing and ensuring people's attendance, explaining objectives of meetings to participants ahead of time, soliciting. input/ideas/concerns from YVG members.) 3. Organize the process of new youth group selection for 2010/2011 activity. Promote the information about the Youth Voice Group selection though the national and regional youth newspapers, Youth Centers and Local Youth network. 4. Prepare the meetings of the selection committee. The consultant will: prepare selection criteria and coordinate them with the ECA YVG focal point and the local Country Office staff in Moldova; invite pre-selected candidates for interview; inform the selected candidates about the selection and organize the first meeting of the new YVG. 5. Evaluate the training needs of the YVG members and contribute to team building and knowledge building among them. 6. Assist the YVG to design the action plan. 7. Facilitate the promotion of the activities organized by the YVG. The consultant should have active contacts with mass media and promote the initiatives of the YVG at national level, invite mass media representatives to participate at YVG activities. 8. Coordinate with facilitators in other participating countries on substantive issues. In particular, the consultant will help maintain a feedback loop of information with YVGs from the other ECA countries and their respective facilitators. 9. Travel to another location for the purposes of coordinating details for a field trip (in-country or abroad) for the Youth Voices. 10. Assist with travel arrangements for YVG members to/from Chisinau. 11. Write a final report on the Youth Voices activities in Moldova for FY10. The report will include a summary of the progress of Youth Voices Group, the activities that the youth were engaged in during the Fiscal Year, lessons learned, etc. The report format will be agreed upon with ECA YVG Focal Point and with the ECA YVG. Coordinator. 12. Advise YVG Focal Point on processes and policy of the World Bank CO in relation to the work of the Youth Voices group. 13. Brief YVG focal point and ECA youth coordinators on the progress of the group. 14. Act overall as a resource person on youth issues in Moldova for the YVG and for the YVG Focal Point and respond to requests for information/assistance from the YVG Focal Point/Coordinator.
